Urii Orlov, the author of REDEMPTION – Fight for Life, has a diverse and international background. He was born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine, where he experienced a challenging upbringing.
In Ukraine, which was rife with gangs and mafia, a life of luxury was tempting for impoverished young boys. Urii learned survival skills in Odessa’s roughest areas. He had to become tougher than the toughest while battling health issues and a violent family environment. Despite hardships, he felt a calling to improve and transition from a life of violence to one of service.
Urii, who speaks six languages, attended medical college, specializing in nursing. His career path took a significant turn when he moved to Germany in 2003 to work in psychiatry.
From 2004 to 2008, he served as the CEO of a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting elderly survivors of World War II concentration camps and victims of Stalin’s gulag prison system. He also pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Germanic Philology at Mechnikov National University in Odessa, Ukraine, and graduated in 2008.
In 2009, he moved to Quebec, Canada, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in social work and worked as a social worker for the Ministry of Youth Protection, primarily serving the First Nations Community from 2012 to 2013.
In 2013, he transitioned into the insurance industry. By 2015, he had relocated to Vancouver, BC, where he is an Insurance Broker. His diverse experiences, spanning multiple countries and industries, provide a unique perspective that deeply influences his writing.
Urii Orlov believes his novel is a tribute to his friend Oleg and a testament to the power of the human spirit. His many unusual experiences have led him to share his metaphysical discoveries and to help others unravel their own mysteries. By sharing his and others’ strange stories, he provides insight into how life works so his readers can apply the knowledge to their own lives.
Currently, Urii resides in Burnaby, BC, and is working on his next book.
